PGA TOUR golf returns to Portland this summer! 156 of the best golfers in the world will battle it out at Pumpkin Ridge’s historic Witch Hollow course August 21-27, 2017. A full week of festivities is in store for sponsors looking for a first-class experience and opportunity to showcase their companies and/or brands to consumers and spectators in a premier setting while helping WinCo Foods raise meaningful dollars for charity.
Highlights include the two-day Pro-Am August 21-22, 2017 and the opportunity to experience the game alongside some of the world’s greatest professional golfers. Each Pro-Am team will be paired with a WinCo Foods associate and a Web.com Tour professional, making for an unforgettable golf experience and an invaluable business and customer entertainment opportunity. The WinCo Foods Portland Open will be host to many of golf’s superstars – talented, young players looking to follow in the footsteps of names like Bubba Watson, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson, Jason Dufner and Keegan Bradley, as well as some of our own WinCo Foods Portland Open Alums like Justin Thomas, Daniel Berger, and Tony Finau, all of whom made the Web.com Tour their path to golf’s biggest stage.
As the final Regular Season event of the 2017 Web.com Tour, the WinCo Foods Portland Open will attract one of the strongest fields of the year. At the end of the week, 25 players will have secured their 2017-2018 PGA TOUR Cards and move on to the Web.com Tour Finals. They will be joined there by the remaining top-75 money winners who will continue their pursuit of the 25 additional cards that will be on the line over the final four weeks of the season.
The Pro-Am will be played on both of Pumpkin Ridge’s Bob Cupp-designed Championship layouts, the Witch Hollow and Ghost Creek courses, where many champions have been crowned. Witch Hollow was the site of Tiger Woods’ unprecedented “three-peat,” or third consecutive U.S. Amateur victory in 1996, and twice hosted one of the biggest Championships in women’s golf, the U.S. Women’s Open in 1997 and in 2003, and the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship in 2006. Ghost Creek has hosted numerous amateur and professional championships as well, including the Nike Tour Championship won by David Duval in 1993. In Pumpkin Ridge’s inaugural year, Golf Digest named Ghost Creek the “Best New Public Course in the U.S.” and Witch Hollow the “#2 Best New Private Course in the U.S.”
Topping this extraordinary experience, proceeds from the event will be distributed to youth and families in need in the communities WinCo Foods serves. Don’t wait to be a part of it!
